Honeymoon in Africa - A Truly Romantic Experience
It is possible to have the most idyllic honeymoon in Africa, and there are so many destinations to choose from! The southern part of Africa lends itself to a variety of regions all looking ‘different' and offering unique experiences. Couples can of course travel and enjoy African safaris on their honeymoon; it all depends on how adventurous they are.
The majority of couples would however opt for luxury and elegance, if not; at the very least select one destination and stay there for the duration of the honeymoon with minimal travelling. Botswana's Chobe National Park for instance is a beautiful and exciting place to visit and the Botswana countryside is dotted with three, four or five star lodges, and SA is no different. There are various world class lodges in and around SA's Kruger Park and the safari and tour options are ample for any couple wishing to step out. Essentially, you are still free to select a package of your preference and budget when it comes to accommodation and add-on activities!
The African continent is a "mysterious" and wonderful place; couples can really take their pick of venues on offer. For a romantic honeymoon in Africa, couples can elect the province of Mpumalanga in South Africa for instance. There are various attractions including many waterfalls of the area, various small and delightful villages and much more that will make a day visit well worthwhile. You will find great accommodation options at Sabie, Lydenburg and White River to name a few. You can also stop at the roadside vendors and buy freshly squeezed orange juice and the fruits of the area: avocados, mangoes, paw paws just to name a few.
To honeymoon in Africa, is to encounter wildlife and the great outdoors! The Kruger National Park is naturally one of the best of its kind. As one of the largest parks, it houses the Big and Small Five as well as many other species of mammals, reptiles, insects, birds, plants and trees. If the newlyweds choose not to lounge next to a pool or enjoy drinks in a bush pub, they can enjoy the veld, sunrises and sunsets. Go horse riding, go on a hiking trip with an expert guide, or make use of the many game drives!
Depending on your planning the longer the honeymoon in Africa, the more there is to see and do. Include South Africa's neighbours in a safari if you so desire and tell your children and grandchildren about it!
