South Africa Tours - Waterfalls in Mpumalanga

One of the waterfalls in the Graskop region of Mpumalanga to include in a South Africa tour is the must see Lisbon Falls. The Lisbon waterfall is the highest of all the falls located in Mpumalanga, and in fact South Africa. There are two streaming falls from a staggering 92 meters above and a strategically located vantage point will allow you to experience their stunning view.
Merely three kilometres from the Lisbon Falls you will find the beautiful Berlin Falls during your holiday in South Africa. These falls can be experienced from a custom built viewpoint where you will be able to see the spectacular falls which are shaped like a candle plunge to roughly 80 meters from the waterfalls drop.
The Lisbon and Berlin Falls have areas where one can enjoy a self catered picnic and spend some time relaxing during your South Africa tour. Here you can simply sit and enjoy the waterfalls and the natural beauty of the area.
In the Sabie area in Mpumalanga you should certainly not miss the magnificent and famous Mac Mac Falls, especially if you are enjoying a self drive holiday. The falls have been declared a National Monument in South Africa and can be viewed after following a stair pathway to the viewpoint. Lone Creek Falls are also situated in Sabie and they are 70 meters in height. The more adventurous would not want to miss the Bridal Veil Falls in Sabie, as visitors need to walk through a lush forest before you can see the 70 meter waterfall. The walk allows visitors to view the beautiful fauna the area has to offer.
Another area in Mpumalanga, known as Waterval Boven is home to 70 meter high Elands River Waterfall. This waterfall has also been declared a National Monument, and should not be missed during a South African tour to the area. Avid rock climbers will be pleased to know there are facilities at the falls to mountain climb and experience the falls up close.
